Kipton Terms of Service

Effective: October 14, 2026 · Last updated: October 14, 2026

On this page

These terms are an agreement between you and Bell Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the maker of Kipton. By creating an account or using Kipton, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Kipton.

Who can use Kipton#

You must be 18 or older to use Kipton. You also need to be able to agree to a contract. Your account is for you alone, so please don't share it.

Your account#

  • Kipton signs you in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google or Apple. Kipton doesn't ask you to create an account password. Keep your email and your Google or Apple accounts secure, because anyone who can get into them may be able to get into Kipton.
  • You're responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has gotten into it, email support@kipton.ai right away.
  • Your Lockbox has its own password. If you lose both your Lockbox password and your recovery key, no one can open your Lockbox, including us.

Your content#

  • Your memories and everything else you save ("your content") belong to you. We don't claim ownership of any of it.
  • You give us permission to store, copy, process, and send your content only as needed to run Kipton for you, including sending it to our service providers, like OpenAI, which powers Kipton's AI. This permission ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies kept for a limited time as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You're responsible for your content and for having the right to save it.
  • We don't sell your content, and we don't use it to train AI models.

Acceptable use#

Don't use Kipton to:

  • Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
  • Store or share sexual content involving minors. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the law requires.
  • Threaten, harass, or harm anyone.
  • Store content you don't have the right to store.
  • Try to get into other people's accounts or data, or test, probe, or break Kipton's security.
  • Overload, disrupt, scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer Kipton, or get around its limits.
  • Access Kipton with bots or automated tools, except in ways we allow.

Safety checks and limits#

  • Kipton automatically checks content for safety. Content that breaks these terms isn't saved. If content is blocked 5 times within 24 hours, saving, uploads, and edits are paused for 24 hours.
  • Every account has limits on storage and AI use, to keep Kipton running well for everyone. If you reach one, Kipton will tell you.

AI answers#

  • Kipton's AI answers from your saved memories and shows which memories it used. It can still be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, including when it reads photos, documents, and receipts. Check anything important.
  • Answers from general knowledge are labeled "Not from your memories."
  • When you type a statement in chat, Kipton may save it as a memory automatically. Review your memories and delete anything you don't want to keep.
  • Kipton isn't a doctor, lawyer, accountant, or financial advisor. Don't rely on it for medical, legal, tax, financial, or emergency decisions. In an emergency, call 911.

Reminders#

Kipton can create calendar events for you to add to your own calendar. Kipton doesn't send reminders or notifications itself, so make sure the event is saved and your calendar's alerts are on.

Keep copies of what matters#

We work hard to keep your memories safe, but no service is perfect, and data can be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose. You can download your memories, photos, and files from Settings at any time. Lockbox items aren't included in the download.

Early access and pricing#

Kipton is in early access and is free during this time. Features may change, and some may be added or removed. We may offer paid plans later. We'll tell you before any changes, and you'll never be charged without agreeing first.

Feedback#

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Kipton without paying you or owing you anything. We handle any personal information in your feedback as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our rights#

Kipton, including its software, design, name, and logo, belongs to Bell Technologies LLC. While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Kipton.

Ending your use#

  • You can stop using Kipton at any time and delete your account in Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete account.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if it's needed to protect Kipton or other people, or if the law requires it. When we can, we'll tell you why.
  • If we ever shut Kipton down, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can download your data.
  • The sections on your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and disputes still apply after your account ends.

Disclaimers#

Kipton is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that Kipton will always be available or error-free, or that data will never be lost.

Limitation of liability#

To the fullest extent the law allows, Bell Technologies LLC isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to Kipton is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Indemnity#

If you break these terms or the law, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

Disputes and governing law#

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
  • Before filing a claim, please email support@kipton.ai and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
  • Any lawsuit must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.

Changes to these terms#

If we make important changes, we'll update the dates at the top and let you know by email or with a notice in Kipton. If you keep using Kipton after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.

General#

  • These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Kipton.
  • If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You can't transfer these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
