Kipton Usage Policy
Effective: October 14, 2026 · Last updated: October 14, 2026
On this page
This Usage Policy explains what you can and can't do with Kipton. It adds detail to the Acceptable use section of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses Kipton. If this policy and the Terms ever conflict, the Terms control.
The short version#
- Kipton is for keeping your own memories: notes, photos, documents, and the details of your life.
- Don't use Kipton to harm anyone, break the law, or store content you don't have the right to keep.
- Kipton automatically checks content for safety, and some content can't be saved.
- If you break this policy, we may block content, pause features, or close your account.
What Kipton is for#
- Saving notes, plans, lists, recipes, and anything else you want to remember
- Keeping photos, scans, documents, and receipts in one place
- Asking questions about what you've saved
- Keeping sensitive details in your Lockbox
Content you can't save#
Don't use Kipton to save, upload, or ask for:
- Sexual content involving minors, or anything that sexualizes children. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the law requires, and we close the account.
- Sexually explicit content, including sexual images.
- Graphically violent content, or threats against anyone.
- Instructions for violence or self-harm.
- Content that harasses, bullies, or targets a real person.
- Other people's private information that you have no right to keep, such as stolen passwords, account numbers, or someone else's private documents.
- Content that breaks someone else's rights, such as their copyright or privacy.
- Anything else that's illegal.
Things you can't do with Kipton#
- Break the law or help anyone else break it, including fraud, scams, or stealing someone's identity.
- Get into other people's accounts or data, or try to.
- Test, probe, or attack Kipton's security, or get around its limits or safety checks.
- Overload, disrupt, scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer Kipton.
- Use bots or automated tools to access Kipton, except in ways we allow.
- Share your account, sell access to it, or let anyone under 18 use it.
- Pretend to be someone else in a way that misleads or harms people.
Automatic safety checks#
- Kipton automatically checks what you save, ask, upload, or attach, including text you put in your Lockbox, before it's stored.
- Content that breaks this policy isn't saved. We record only the type of content that was blocked and when, not the content itself.
- If content is blocked 5 times within 24 hours, saving, uploads, and edits are paused for 24 hours.
- Automatic checks can get things wrong. If you think something was blocked by mistake, email support@kipton.ai.
If you're going through something hard#
If something you write mentions suicide or self-harm, Kipton may not save it, and it will show you how to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You can call or text 988 any time in the United States. If you're in immediate danger, call 911.
Your Lockbox#
Your Lockbox is encrypted, so we can't read what's inside it. This policy still applies to everything in Kipton, including your Lockbox.
Fair use limits#
Every account has limits on storage and AI use, so Kipton stays fast and affordable for everyone. If you reach one, Kipton will tell you. Don't try to get around these limits, for example by creating extra accounts.
What happens if you break this policy#
Depending on what happened, we may:
- Block the content
- Pause saving, uploads, and edits
- Suspend or close your account
- Report it to law enforcement or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children when the law requires it
When we can, we'll tell you what happened and why.
Reporting a problem#
If you see Kipton being misused, or you think you've found a security problem, email support@kipton.ai. For security problems, put "Security" in the subject line.
Changes to this policy#
If we make important changes, we'll update the dates at the top and let you know by email or with a notice in Kipton.
