Read your memories offline
Kipton can keep a copy of your memories' text on your device, so you can read them without a connection. It's handy for a grocery list in a store with bad service.
- On phones, offline copies turn on automatically after you sign in.
- On computers and tablets, go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Offline copies and choose Yes, on this device.
- To turn them off on a device, choose Not on this device. The copies are deleted from that device.
What's included
The text of your memories, including text Kipton read from photos and files. Photos and files themselves aren't included, and your Lockbox never is. For memories marked Critical, only the title and a short preview (with long numbers hidden) are kept, unless you turn on Keep offline for that memory.
Good to know
- Offline copies are protected by your device's own security, like your passcode, not by extra encryption from Kipton.
- Signing out deletes the offline copies on that device. If you sign in on someone else's phone, sign out when you're done.
- On iPhone, Safari may delete offline copies if you don't open Kipton for about 7 days. Opening Kipton now and then keeps them.
- Asking Kipton questions and saving new memories need a connection.
